As a horse breeder, Mr L of Mid Devon needs the best shelter available for his horses and foals.
When he came to visit the extensive show site of John Shields timber buildings he explained that he needed field shelters in both the paddocks and the all-weather arena. The shelters had to have kick boards, guttering and strong box profile roofing.
After a site visit, stone bases were prepared by the customer. John Shields supplied timber bearers to stand the wall panels on.
These were set level on the stone bases with the use of a theodolite by John Shields’ skilled staff.
This ensured that the shelters went up without a hitch and the roof sheets lined up perfectly.
The larger shelter required a canopy at the front. This was achieved with the use of plywood gussets for support and strength to stand the worst weather.
