Devon Timber Building manufacturers, John Shields Woodwork, are based in North Tawton and are suppliers of a variety of timber buildings including sheds, studios, stables and home offices.
Quality
Attention to detail which may not always be
obvious, is central to the quality of our products. For
example the depth of rebate used on the overlap of the shiplap
boards is deeper than standard to prevent any gaps appearing
as the boards dry out with time.
All exposed softwood is pressure-treated to
ensure that the preservatives penetrate deep into the timber
to give it a longer life.
All corner battens and joint seams are
sealed with silicone sealer to keep out moisture.
Damp proof wall membranes are used in many
situations.
All ironmongery is treated against rust,
hot dip galvanising being used in most situations. All our
products are made in our workshops in mid Devon, all to the
same high standard.
All external cladding is nailed on by hand,
using galvanised nails.
Service
From your first enquiry we aim to give you
practical advice that will be of use to you. This is based on
17 years experience of supplying buildings in the Southwest.
We can discuss your needs and make
suggestions. We may refer you to our existing customers, if we
feel it will be of help when you are making your choice.
Our wide database will enable us to trace a
suitable building which you may like to view.
We will discuss the planning implications
with you and the base requirements. We may be able to
recommend site contractors in Devon, to carry out base work.
If required we will submit an application for Building Regulations approval. We will also constuct the building to the appropriate standard.
We will send out a brochure with up to date
price list, if you request one. We will also provide a written
quotation when requested.
